In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of information and ensuring accurate documentation for the import, export, and movement of cargo.
You will serve as the primary interface between operations, carriers, customers, truckers, port authorities, and governmental agencies to ensure a seamless cargo handling experience.
Your efforts will ensure timely resolution of any issues and maintain the highest standards of customer service.
This position requires a minimum of B2-level proficiency in English.
The role is based on-site at our office in Bogotá (El Chico).
Key Responsibilities: Documentation & Data Management: Verify and process documentation for import/export containers, including Bills of Lading, delivery orders, and customs clearance.
Ensure accurate data entry of cargo information into terminal operating systems and customer databases.
Track and monitor cargo movements, ensuring timely updates to customers and internal teams.
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to cargo status, volumes, and customer transactions.
Operational Coordination: Liaise with terminal operations, stevedores, shipping lines, and trucking companies to ensure smooth cargo handling.
Obtain dangerous cargo certificates and port permits from carriers or agencies.
Prepare required documents for drivers.
Coordinate the delivery of breakbulk cargo with the shipping line, agency, trucking companies,
and related departments.
Customer Support & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipments, schedules, and documentation.
Respond to inquiries related to availability, vessel schedules, gate operations, and demurrage charges.
Address and resolve customer complaints and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
Communicate terminal policies, procedures, and any operational changes to customers and stakeholders.
Help resolve missing cargo issues, billing disputes, and ensure completeness of tariff charges.
Drive communication outreach programs to strengthen relationships with drayage providers and coordinate quarterly trucker meetings.
Establish direct relationships with Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) to leverage facility performance and gain business.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 2+ years of experience in customer service or operations coordination, particularly within cargo handling or logistics.
Proficient in terminal operating systems, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite, Zendesk.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, or a related field.
Level B2 English fluency (Required).
Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Detail-oriented and organized with a proactive approach to issues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate between various teams effectively.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced office and terminal setting.
