The Manager, External Manufacturing Category Procurement is responsible for driving selected sub-categories, including sourcing strategy, deployment, execution/implementation, and stakeholder management, to maximize total cost of ownership savings and Procurement’s value contribution while achieving compliance with policies, strategies, and processes. You will also support the development of robust category strategies, aligned with regions and key stakeholders in EM Make, Planning, Quality, etc.
You will strive to meet the mutually agreed Procurement targets contributing to the overall budgeting targets. In addition to the elements mentioned above, the Manager is accountable to define and achieve clear targets in conjunction with his/her Procurement regional counterparts and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support Category Strategies for GLOBAL category
- Analyze category and define category profile, including risk assessment, supply base assessment and SRM strategy
- Benchmark category practices to identify improvement initiatives
- Build category specific strategic plan in alignment with the regions/countries and align strategic plan to financial budget and global business strategies in alignment with global Category Manager and business stakeholders
- Initiate internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
- Consolidate requirements, acting as a business partner for business/other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specification with the business/other functions
- Accountable for efficient alignment enablement/activation of negotiation outcomes by increasing the level of automated content within the category, instructing on new content updates and by providing clear instructions about the category strategy to enable compliance
- Lead medium size cross functional programs such as:
- Global benchmarking assessments
- New supplier’s introduction
- Go to Market initiatives
- Identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations
- Accountable for supplier scouting, selection and development
- Development of cost models
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders and business representatives
- Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day supply issues and drive resolution in line with global procurement policies
- Achieve “buy-in” from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives
- Collaborate and align with global/regional/local procurement teams as applicable
What we are looking for Required Qualifications
- At least 6 years of relevant supply chain/Procurement experience
- Experience of 2+ years in External Manufacturing Procurement or Operations
- Proficiency in English Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, MBA or relevant degree
