UST is looking for results oriented,
Senior Data Warehouse Developer to independently design, develop, test, implement, document, and support data warehouses, including ETL, database, and scheduling technologies and processes. In this senior role, the developer will apply a general understanding of the data warehouse source and target systems, and leverage a general knowledge of business intelligence and big data technologies and processes, to execute responsibilities. They will have strong communication and data analysis skills to collaborate well with business analysts.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop ELT using Erwin which is deployed as Views to SQL Server database, moving data with Erwin, SQL, and a little Talend; no Informatica.
2. Create and support the ETL process to extract the data from source systems and place it into the data warehouse.
3. Perform data warehouse design and testing, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation.
4. Design, develop, and maintain relational databases for data storage and data mining.
5.
Work with business and IT stakeholders to optimize reporting information by defining business requirements and populating the data warehouse table structure.
6. Create data warehouse schematics and layouts; assist with developing capacity planning.
7. Recommend improvements and apply standards, processes, and procedures for data warehousing systems.
8. Seek continuous data warehouse performance improvement and ensure security of data.
9. Create and implement effective metrics and monitoring processes.
10. May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
11. Act as a resource and impact the quality of work for colleagues with less experience.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. 4+ years Data Warehouse or relevant experience.
2. Experience in Kimball dimensional modeling.
3. 4+ years ETL, database, and scheduling experience.
4.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.
5. 1+ years of Data Analysis experience.
6. Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information.
7. Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to build consensus.
8. Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in straightforward manner.
9. Regular and predictable attendance.
Preferred:
1. Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
2. Master’s degree and/or LOMA certification.
3. Experience as an ETL team lead.
Technical Skills Required:
1. Enterprise Scheduler (Tidal preferred).
2. Erwin Data Modeler.
3.
Database technologies (one or more of the following): Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, Vertica Preferred, Talend.
