As Head of Operations for English and School Education, you will play a very important role in delivering high-impact strategic partnerships with national and local governments in Colombia. Beyond overseeing implementation, you’ll support growth by identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and expanding the reach and impact of our work in the education sector. This role is critical to ensuring the effectiveness, quality, and financial sustainability of projects while maintaining compliance with corporate policies, operational risk standards, and local regulations.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:

- Supports the English and School Education (ESE) team in the design and negotiation of partnerships, ensuring quality, maximising impact, and effectively managing risks and issues.
- Leads and supports the implementation of programmes and projects,



ensuring successful and timely delivery, in partnership with project-based Heads of Implementation.
- Ensures the compliance of activities and milestones aligning to financial targets, procurement policies, and risk management assessments.
- Oversees the integration of digital tools and technologies to improve project tracking, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring timely delivery.
- Contributes to regional/country business strategy.
- Creates and/or monitors detailed implementation plans integrating schedule of activities, deliverables, financial resources, quality management, communications plan, risk assessment and mitigation, indicators, amongst others.
- Monitors and evaluates project performance, using available data to refine strategies and improve delivery outcomes.
- Supports financial and strategic planning, including resource allocation, capacity planning,



and risk assessment.
- Leads and centralises internal cross-cutting processes and activities that support the implementation of large-scale projects.

This includes large procurements, reporting mechanisms, audits, project inception, and coordination of VIP visits and events involving multiple projects, among other responsibilities.

- Leads and monitors project implementation, ensuring quality through coordination with team members, including project-based Heads of Implementation and Project Managers.
- Supports project teams in designing follow-up and retention strategies.
- Manages information platforms and tools for effective monitoring, while designing and maintaining databases.
- Assists project teams in delivering timely information for the preparation of analytical reports, presentations, technical documents,



and financial reports relevant to each project.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key local partners with a view to identifying new opportunities and partnerships.
- Supports the government and institutional relationships that the UK needs to succeed in region/country.
- Works alongside the English and School Education (ESE) senior team in country to manage relationships with stakeholders and partners at a sector level.
- Collaborates with regional and global teams to exchange best practices.
- Works with heads of implementation and project managers to monitor budget and expenditure against forecast.
- Uses agreed financial procedures/templates, conducts monthly and year-end analysis and reports on income and expenditure and risk/pipeline/actual performance versus plan targets.




- Supports the development and management of relationships with strategic clients and partners.
- Applies due diligence requirements to potential partners.
- Embeds effective processes, standards and tools to support pipeline and consultant/partner relationship management.
- Supports the development of high-quality bids/proposals.
- Participates in contract negotiations with partners and clients, and prepares agreements such as non-disclosure, pre-bid, contract and partner and consultant agreements.

Requirements of the role:

- Five (5) years of professional experience in large-scale projects, ideally in the education sector.
- Experience managing projects from start to finish and familiarity with project life cycles.
- Experience collaborating effectively with others to develop solutions to issues where there is not an established framework.




- Understanding of procurement processes for obtaining goods and services.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing and communicating outcomes during the delivery of large-scale projects.
- Experience managing stakeholders.
- Written and verbal proficiency in English at C1 level is required.

Same for Spanish.

- University degree.
