Our client is a growing accounting services firm that specializes in managing the accounting close process for multiple clients. They leverage integrated accounting systems and expect a high level of technical problem-solving from their leadership team.
This role is designed to bridge the gap between day-to-day accounting fulfillment and executive oversight, ensuring smooth operations, team coordination, and timely financial reporting. Position Overview: The Senior Finance Operations Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, accounting workflows, and team coordination across multiple clients. This position combines finance expertise with operational oversight, ensuring efficient financial operations and process optimization while managing and mentoring the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Oversee and manage the accounting close process across all clients, ensuring deadlines are met 2. Supervise and train accounting staff, conducting regular check-ins to monitor progress and address challenges
3. Act as the key liaison between the accounting team and business owner,
providing status updates and insights 4. Troubleshoot and resolve high-complexity accounting issues, such as payroll journal entries, sync discrepancies, and system integrations 5. Optimize workflows using QuickBooks Online, Xero, Keeper, Notion, and Bill.com or similar tools
6. Provide clear financial reporting to clients in a timely and structured manner 7. Continuously improve and document processes to enhance operational efficiency Qualifications: 1. 5-10+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in financial operations and close process management
2. Expertise in QuickBooks Online and Xero 3. Experience with Keeper or similar bookkeeping/task management platforms 4. Familiarity with Notion (or equivalent process documentation tools) and Bill.com (or other integrated bill pay platforms)
5.
Strong leadership and communication skills to oversee teams and liaise with stakeholders 6. Ability to analyze and solve complex accounting issues independently 7. Experience in a client-facing accounting services firm is a plus Nice-to-Haves:
1. Prior experience in a remote, international accounting team 2. Background in process automation and system integrations 3. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus but not required
