Requirements

Must have experience:

1. Implementing and maintaining high-performance SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability
2. Installing, configuring,



and upgrading database management systems and software including clustering environment
3. Designing and implementing fault-tolerant SQL Server solutions using high availability patterns for scalability and stability in on-premises and Microsoft Azure
4. Monitoring and maintaining database storage, health, performance, sustainability, and security
5. Providing SQL Server administration in MS SQL Server 2017, 2019, and 2022
6. Overseeing and managing database replication strategies, including setup, configuration, and monitoring
7. Monitoring and maintaining SQL Server Always-on/Mirroring, Log shipping, backups, ETL SSIS, and AutoSys jobs
8. Responding to database and user problems, and providing guidance to junior-level DBAs
9. Performance troubleshooting - tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, analyzing SQL query plans, and suggesting and implementing solutions to support developers
10. Proactive monitoring - analyzing wait events and proactively addressing performance challenges to ensure efficient database operations
11.



Participating in on-call rotation and responding to critical database issues promptly, ensuring 24/7 availability of mission-critical systems
12. Documenting database configurations, processes, and best practices, contributing to the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge resources

Responsibilities

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
3. Expertise in analyzing and mitigating wait events, bottlenecks, and resource contention
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
