Job Overview
As a Revit and BIM Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in MEP design,
using advanced Revit expertise to draft in real-time alongside engineers.
You’ll streamline workflows by eliminating markup-to-CAD processes while ensuring seamless BIM coordination, clash detection, and MEP system integration for accurate, efficient, and high-performance project execution.
Employment Type: Indefinite Term Contract
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM EST
Work Setup: Remote/Work From Home
Your Daily Tasks
- Serve as the primary Revit specialist for all MEP design projects.
- Develop detailed MEP layouts, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical power, and lighting, directly in Revit.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and resolve coordination issues before construction.
- Maintain BIM execution plans (BEPs), project templates, and Revit standards.
- Ensure LOD 300 models align with project requirements.
- Work closely with engineers to develop accurate designs in Revit.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and fire protection teams.
- Conduct MEP system calculations, including pipe and duct sizing, electrical loads,
and energy modeling.
- Support real-time design revisions based on client and engineering feedback.
- Oversee model integrity by maintaining clean families, templates, and work-sharing standards.
- Develop and enforce Revit best practices.
- Ensure compliance with ICC, ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, and NEC codes.
Training & Support
- Train internal team members on Revit workflows and best practices.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting modeling challenges.
- Stay updated on Revit and BIM advancements to enhance project execution.
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Revit for MEP system modeling and parametric design.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design principles.
- Experience in BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or similar software.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD MEP for legacy projects.
- Proficiency in cloud-based Revit collaboration tools, such as BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail to prevent design conflicts.
- Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
