What You’ll Do
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our production team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and maintain the production/hearings calendar.
- Ensure all court deadlines and appointments are tracked and updated.
- Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients regarding hearing dates and case progress.
- Make calls to courts and government agencies to follow up on cases and request information.
- Maintain professional and effective communication with legal entities.
- Update and maintain client information in our case management software.
- Register clients in different databases and ensure accurate documentation.
- Provide clear and timely communication to clients regarding their case status.
- Assist with various internal administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare requests for work permits, FOIAs, and other applications.
- Support the team with any additional duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Language Skills: Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is a must.
Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong time management abilities.
Communication Skills: Professional and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using case management software, Google Drive, and other digital tools.
Proactive & Adaptable: Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and solve problems efficiently.
Additionally, we want someone who is positive and has a can-do attitude, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve the objectives of the team.
You must be comfortable with change and a high-pressure environment.
