Integrated Solutions Engineer - Embedded Computer System Design
Summary: The Integrated Solutions Engineer designs the enablement plans and configuration specifications and performs installation processes to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers.
Develops program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions.
Provides technical information, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work.
Prototypes and tests proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality.
Creates and maintains documentation to provide customers with a reliable technical resource for product operation and maintenance.
Research technical solutions for customer applications.
Execute and support product development activities and produce engineering documentation in compliance with Contec Americas Inc's ISO quality system.
Generate new product configurations for customer proposals using established engineering processes for new product development.
Coordinate with other departments to support engineering projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Support multiple Engineering projects in the development of new computing platform hardware and software solutions, display solutions, and other electromechanical assemblies.
2.
Build Intel and AMD compatible computer systems from the component level to completed assembly using industry-standard electronic assembly methods.
3.
Build, test, and document other electromechanical assemblies.
4.
Install and functional test computing platform operating systems including Windows, Linux,
and QNX.
5.
Troubleshoot computer hardware and operating system software configurations and resolve technical issues.
6.
Support Manufacturing for engineering-related issues of production released platforms.
7.
Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues.
Develop clear engineering documentation in the form of work instructions and engineering notes to allow Proof of Concept and Pre-Production configurations to be accurately reproduced.
8.
Support product design and development activities as part of an Engineering Project Team to prepare computing platforms, displays, and other electromechanical assemblies for production release.
Activities may include:
- Project management responsibilities
- Hardware, operating system, and application software configuration
- Functional and validation test execution
- Production test configuration support
- Packaging design and test
- Produce engineering documentation in compliance with Contec Americas Inc’s ISO quality system
- Work with engineering project plans to guide objectives, task scheduling, and job deliverables

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors Of Science in Engineering,
Engineering Technology or related field and a minimum of 2 years experience in the area of electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer hardware, software, and operating systems OR ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Contec Americas operates in an ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 environment and candidate must possess the ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
Project Management or Agile Certification preferred.
Language Skills: Applicants must have a minimum B-2 level of English proficiency to be considered for this position.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, professional journals, technical documents, specifications, and procedures.
Ability to write clear technical reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers,
and the general public.
Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
Language skills in Mandarin or Japanese is a plus.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to actively participate in the resolution of technical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to evaluate technical information related to computer hardware and software applications.
Ability to compare technical information to a set of requirements and provide a reasoned analysis of the data.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database management software; Design software; Development software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Driver’s License.
Computer hardware, operating systems, and networking certifications are desirable.
